David Jones (ceramics teacher at Maple Mountain High School) teaches the pottery class at the Senior Center. Students work on their own projects with teacher input. Three electric wheels are available for use during class. Students are limited to 45 minutes on the wheel if there is another student waiting. Because of the open nature of this class, the teacher may or may not have time to give extensive individual help.
Tools are available for use free of charge. Students receive 30 cubic inches of glaze allowance and space in the kiln for firing with each day of class attendance. If students exceed this amount, additional fees will be charged.
A five-class punch card may be purchased for $25; Senior Center members may purchase the five-class punch card for only $20.
The pottery class is open to anyone age 14+. Younger students may attend with teacher approval.
